Bio/Description:
Denise has worked with infants, toddlers and preschoolers for over 18 years. The majority of her experience is as a developmental specialist for early intervention, serving children with special needs, age 0-3. Denise is a certified early intervention specialist. Denise also has worked privately with older children and in a range of other settings. Denise has worked with children individually, in groups, in schools, and in the community. Her background includes:
Extensive experience with children diagnosed on the autism spectrum and also familiar with dyslexia, language delays, prematurity, and ADHD
Clinical consulatant to early childhood programs
Worked as family consultant for the MA Executive Office of Health and Human Services
Trained as a parent consultant through the Federation for Children with Special Needs and has attended hundreds of IEP meetings for families with young children
Denise is also the parent of three children, including one with learning disabilities. Denise is an educational surrogate parent, signing IEP's for children in the care of the Department of Children and Family Services.

Denise has completed further training in the use of the DIR model (Developmental Individual-Difference Relationship) of Floortime, which addresses children's sensory, social, and emotional skills. Denise provides play therapy for a child based on their presenting challenges and strengths with the direction of climbing the social-emotional ladder towards complex social interaction skills for children with adults and peers.
