Attorney Ray Wallace is a former high school teacher who now practices law in Canton, Massachusetts. His practice concentrates on the rights of children and their parents. He represents children and parents in education law cases, including special education and school discipline: in juvenile court matters, including delinquency and CHINS, and Care and Protection; and in criminal matters. His experience includes:
Managing Attorney at Southeastern Massachusetts Legal Assistance Corporation (now South Coastal Counties Legal Services) for ten years Founder, the Education Law Project, which still provides free legal assistance to low income families in southeastern Massachusetts Taught at Boston College Law School, in the Legal Assistance Bureau, and represented the state’s Medical Assistance program in state and federal litigation.
His education and experiences also include:
B.S. degree in Education from University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee J.D., cum laude, from Boston College Law School Founding Chair of the Massachusetts Bar Association’s Children's Rights Committee Trustee and past president of the Massachusetts Law Reform Institute Advisory Board of the Children's Law Support Project at Massachusetts Advocates for Children and works with various other groups promoting the rights of children.
Attorney Wallace frequently speaks to groups of parents, educators, practicing attorneys and clinicians on various topics related to children’s rights, including suspension/expulsion defense, Ch.766/special education eligibility, Sec.504 rights, working cooperatively with IEP Teams and the inter-relationship of special education issues and juvenile court practice.
