Pam Duncan worked with my son this summer for five weeks, for one- hour-a-day sessions. Our goal was to keep his reading from regressing over the summer. Not only did he not regress, he made substantial improvement in his reading fluency. Pam incorporated several phonics and decoding methods in her sessions. After reading paragraphs together with my son, she asked probing questions which forced him to concentrate and think about  the content, not just read the words. She also varied each session which made it interesting for him over the summer. Games  were incorporated. Writing skills were reviewed. After the sessions, Pam sent me a thorough and comprehensive appraisal of my son's progress to date which will be used going forward in his reading/writing  support. I highly recommend Pam and we will use her again in the future.
We are the biggest Pam Fans around! My son has worked with Pam for 3 years now, and I believe her tutoring forms the basis of his education on which his schooling is supported.  When my son  started with Pam, he could barely write the alphabet much less spell correctly because of his dyslexia.   Within 6 months, he was writing full sentences and spelling many of the words correctly.  Within two years he was fully remediated in his ability to recognize and reproduce English phonemes.  Furthermore-Pam has taught him how to organize his thoughts on paper as well as how to research reading materials successfully and efficiently.  His essays are marvelous.  Pam has given him the tools to express his wonderful insights and observations.  Now she is previewing middle school material with him so he is prepared for that new challenge.  We are actually looking forward to middle school- never thought I would be saying that!
My son worked with Pam when he was very young. She was fantastic. I've since recommended her to both a third grader and an eleventh grader. Both parents have raved about the progress their child made with Pam.
